Budgets and resources are allocated based on the organisation’s project management and financial methodology. This can occur externally to QualiWare, but ideally, it should be incorporated to provide an end-to-end view of strategy to execution.
In QualiWare, one or many projects deliver an Initiative, which is the aggregation of associated projects. The strategic roadmap model is a great place to create initiatives and relevant delivery projects.
Multiple strategic roadmap revisions can be created to enable a comparison view; this empowers stakeholders to make informed decisions regarding which roadmap to proceed with.
The project object contains all the required attribute fields to create a comprehensive project management view of the undertaking, including resource allocation, work breakdown structures, critical path methods, and affected information systems.
As mentioned, changes to specific application landscapes can be managed using the improvement schedule and action plans. In addition, the whole investment portfolio can be tracked operationally by creating QRVs of the entire investment portfolio.
The Enterprise Investment Portfolio template lets you model Goals, Projects, and Initiatives. The projects and initiatives can be connected to enterprise goals through Project Contributions, which show the viable minimum and optimistic maximum of the value contribution. Below, you can see an example of an Enterprise Investment Portfolio, where the way goals are realised is visualised:
Dashboard and table views of the investment financials can be created for business users and managers to track and monitor costs as projects and initiatives move through their implementation lifecycle.
A range of pre-built analysis features are available for the strategic roadmap. Individual initiatives from the roadmap can be selected or de-selected to view the impact from a cost, profit, importance and effort perspective.
